why seniors matter to me…

Senior year is one of life's biggest milestones.

Everything is about to change, and for a brief moment, seniors are standing between who they've been and who they're becoming.

The photos matter, but what matters even more is how they feel when they LOOK AT THEIR PHOTOGRAPHS. I want them to feel confident, seen, worthy, and proud of who they are.

And if they're ever having a day where they forget those things, I hope these photographs remind them.

  • I love personality reports: Enneagram 9w8, ENFP/INFP, Human Design Projector, Sagittarius with a Scorpio moon, and Blue with a Yellow secondary.

  • Collector of crystals and really cool-looking bourbon bottles.

  • Romantasy book addict.

  • Dessert enthusiast.

  • Professional over-thinker and list-making addict.

  • I love rainy days (on my days off).

  • Top TV shows: The OA, Friends, The Office, and Homeland.

  • Favorite movies: The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Interstellar, Reality Bites, Newsies, and Empire Records.

  • I'm a sucker for the things that get passed down: family recipes, well-loved heirlooms, family traditions, and the stories that keep them alive.

  • Embarrassing moment: I once fell down an entire flight of stairs in front of most of my senior class.

  • I'm irrationally terrified of spiders of all sizes and plane rides longer than four hours.

  • I'm really bad at whistling, parallel parking, folding fitted sheets, and assembling anything from IKEA.

  • Beyond high school seniors, I also photograph weddings, birth stories, funerals, branding, families, boudoir, and everything in between. If it's part of the human experience, chances are I'm interested in documenting it.
